Context

The Royal Government of Cambodia has been actively implementing the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign and has achieved remarkable positive progress in accordance with the Blossom Approach (យុទ្ធសាស្ត្រផ្ការីក), started in Phnom Penh and Kandal Province, and expanded step by step to other regions aiming at creating herd immunity by 2021.

As of February 10, Cambodia has distributed COVID-19 vaccine to 89.82% of the 16 million population, meanwhile the booster doses have also been inoculated, along with vaccination campaign for the children 5 years and above. Due to the concerns of Omicron variants, the government has distributed the Fourth Dose or the Second Booster shot of COVID-19 vaccines and has distributed to 561,059 of its population, as of February 10, 2022. The success of nationwide vaccination campaign has paved way for herd immunity, allowing Cambodia to fully reopen its socio-economic activities, including the tourism industry. Domestic tourist movements are now possible throughout the country in a safe and enjoyable manner.
