As Yolles Maurice noted, without our own culture, there is no development, which means that without a research culture, there is no research development. The process of fostering a strong research culture requires concerted efforts, genuine commitment, clear vision and even changes in mindset at all levels of the society, including the national, institutional and individual levels. However, to develop a vibrant research culture in Cambodia is a very long journey and also a challenging one.
